My life may be a lot like yours, busy with family and career. Experience has taught me that you cannot find fulfillment by just learning to cope. I found that to continue to grow and thrive and to achieve well-being is really a journey for both the body and the mind.

At an early age I fell in love with fitness as a dancer, cheerleader and athlete in high school. It quickly became a way of life for me with first taking classes and later teaching modern dance, ballet, tap and jazz. I always found time to stay fit using a number of different exercise formats. As the fitness craze heated up and health clubs became popular, I would sandwich in morning and early evening classes as an instructor between my commitments to family and work. Along the way, my interest in learning remained constant. I attained certifications in Step, Aqua Aerobics, Cycle, Strength, Yoga, Pilates, GYROKINESIS®, BOSU and recently Zumba. I have also studied Tai Chi and Martial Arts. Exposure to these multiple physical disciplines evolved into my “best of” concept for lengthening muscles and strengthening the body. From my accumulated library of movements I was able to increase the selections while also adding rhythm and variety to each sequence, producing greater alternatives that are constantly fresh and always challenging. What evolved was a highly successful method to achieve complete body fitness. Upon introducing this concept to my classes, I was amazed and overwhelmed by the positive response. Several years of perfecting this physique changing methodology followed but the physical roots of SheaNetics™ are in solid, practical, results-rewarding accomplishment.

The range of SheaNetics™ students is impressively diverse from 25 to 75 year olds, men and women, fitness buffs and athletes, people who want to get in shape, those who wish to maintain their present state of fitness and many who want to take it to a higher level. My workouts have a broad appeal also extending to individuals with special challenges, including physical difficulties, limited range of motion or anyone who just wants to lengthen or stretch muscles and strengthen the body while opening the mind and nourishing the total self.

My years of learning and teaching also showed me that interest alone is not sufficient to keep a person engaged. So, I made a lengthy personal study of the mental side of exercise to discover what factors have given me ongoing motivation. What I found was that “fitness is both a state of the body and a state of the mind”. My journey to building a better life has been a process of making better choices which is a function of having the right mental guide. This led to the Five Living Principles of SheaNetics™; Commitment, Perseverance, Self-Control, Integrity and Love. They are an inspirational force in helping me create a positive lifestyle with a healthy body and the supportive mental and emotional paradigm to deal with changing and demanding times. One encourages the other and together they help you find balance, self-confidence and a personal state of well-being.

I openly share with you that my life has not been without challenge. But is was through tough times I found “you can’t elminate stress, but you can give it a break.” Scientific research has shown that exposure to the right kind of physical and mental influences produces a state of meditation which in turn reduces stress. Reduce stress and well-being emerges. That is what makes SheaNetics™ work. Exercise alone is good for you but an equally fit mind completes your sense of self fulfillment.
